About the Author

Jacko and Mary, my newly married Sicilian grandparents, took a rusty steamship to America in 1911. Mary had learned to cook from her grandmother and brought her Nona’s recipes, wrapped in a blue ribbon. They landed at Ellis Island, NY, and worked their way to San Francisco on a train, cooking in a plush dining car.

I hope to enjoy these traditional foods this Christmas.
